Celestial Guardians (A3)
Welcome to Charizard Ex, the ultimate deck of winning hard or losing hard. This deck is all about high risk and high reward. If you like to go big or go home, then you’re in for a treat.
What’s great about this deck is that when this deck opens well, it is hard for the opponent to come back from. It’s a deck that truly believes in playing solitaire and not caring if the opponent can play. This deck is all about no mercy, so if you are someone who would love to incinerate your opponent and not care for what the opponent does, this is the deck for you.
Charmander - Mandatory active Pokémon
Charizard - Main Damage Dealer, the ultimate nuke
Rare Candy - Helps speed evolution along
Lillie - Heals your Charizard and keeps it alive and away from bad breakpoints
Giant Cape - Increases its absurd health further to avoid dying for longer
Other variants include Charizard + Incineroar and Charizard + Turtonator. If you don’t like being completely walled by Oricorio, these two options are available for a better chance against the Birb of Hell. However, you do run the risk of other matchups, such as Darktina being harder for you to win.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to sacrifice how the deck plays, you could always tech a Komala into it and pray you don’t start with it.
Another option is to tech one Heatran, which does a similar job to Komala, but does require being damaged before swinging for 80.
Lastly, you could always increase the number of Lillies you run to two, but that comes at the risk of more bricking.
Final Thoughts: Mastering the Deck
If you want a deck that is explosive, kills Darktina like it owes it lunch money and just want to win fast, this is the deck for you. And if you hate Oricorio, you can always tech a Heatran as a solid answer. Just be prepared to brick now and then.
🏆 Tier 2 — Tournament Proven
✅ Strengths: Explosive, High damage and HP thresholds
⚠️ Weaknesses: Linear, Oricorio
