Tired of facing tier 1 decks all the time? Then meet Magnezone + Oricorio, the ultimate anti-meta pick that slaps Darktina and Meowscarada decks around for practically free. Let’s dive in!

Why Play Magnezone + Oricorio?

What makes this deck so good is that it self-generates energy while applying pressure with Oricorio. This allows the deck to not only block EX Pokémon but also solidly stomps on decks that rely on water Pokémon like Greninja. So if you’re tired of all those Giratina variants running around, this deck is just for you. 

✅ Strengths

• Oricorio by itself can win some matchups single-handedly
• Magnezone self-generates energy, meaning you can build two Pokémon at once
• Great against Darktina variants and Meowscarada variants

❌ Weaknesses

• Weak against fighting decks
• Struggles against non-tier 1 decks

Game Plan

Early Game:

• Ideally, we start with Oricorio in the front and start setting up Magnemite in the back
• From here, it’s important to set up Oricorio with energy as you search for Magneton. The sooner you get Magneton, the more pressure you apply to your opponent
• Find a second Oricorio to prevent Sabrina from sniping your Magnemite/Magneton

Mid Game: 

• At this point, you should be generating energy using Magneton
• Make sure to search for Magnezone in preparation for evolution
• Attack with Oricorio to lower HP for Magnezone to clean up

Late Game:

• Start cleaning up with Magnezone
• Use your second Oricorio to help 
• Use healing items and trainers if necessary, if not already used before

Tech Options & Variants

If you want some versatility, consider dropping Lillie for Pokémon Center Lady. This means less healing for Magnezone but more options for what you can heal. However, be aware that the list I’m playing is also the tournament winners' list. So take that for what you will.

Final Thoughts: Mastering the Deck

This deck is truly a meta call. When it works, it wins an almost 3000-player tournament. But against other decks, it's a tougher sell. Despite this, it does work against most decks, meaning it is a strong and versatile deck that is rewarding and fun to play. If you can brave the weather regarding fighting-type decks, you’re in for a fun time.
