Shining Revelry (A2b)
The Mewtwo + Giratina deck, affectionately dubbed Giratwo, is a versatile and brain-burning deck that rewards smart plays and punishes autopilot gameplay. With earlier pressure than traditional Giratina decks and insane trainer card access, this deck is a solid option for players looking to outthink the meta.
If you want to outpace Giratina/Darkrai decks while still flexing one of the strongest attackers in the format, Giratwo is your answer. This deck uses Giratina to accelerate energy, threaten surprise KOs with Mewtwo, and provide flexibility that lets you adapt to any matchup. It’s not just strong — it’s consistent.
Keep in Mind:
This deck is more complex than the average Pokémon Pocket list. Every turn demands decision-making, and misplays can cost you the game.
Early Game:
Start building energy with Giratina in the active spot and prep Mewtwo on the bench. If you have a Dawn in hand, consider starting with Mewtwo for a potential early KO — just don’t rely on this every game. Use trainer cards to thin your deck and build your board state. However, depending on the matchup, it’s best to build Giratina on the bench and have your other Giratina in the active spot become a meat shield.
Mid Game:
Now you should have one of your attackers close to fully charged. Based on the matchup and current board, decide whether to pressure with Mewtwo’s 150 early or keep charging Giratina for a more energy-efficient path. Pay close attention to the opponent’s setup.
Late Game:
Both Mewtwo and Giratina should be fully loaded. At this point, you need to pivot between them based on the board. Choose carefully — every Mewtwo attack is a turn where you lose two energy, with the only way to regain it fast enough is with Dawn, hurting your chances to attack with Giratina Ex. Calculate your damage, check your win condition, and close the game smart.
Giratina — Primary attacker and energy battery
Mewtwo — Tempo attacker and energy holder, especially deadly with Dawn
Dawn — Enables surprise Mewtwo plays
Trainer Cards — The heart of this deck's consistency; use them wisely to dig for the right play
Giratwo isn’t your average punch-and-pray deck. It demands precision, planning, and the ability to weigh long-term board state over short-term aggression. The skill ceiling is higher than all pocket decks thus far — but so is the reward. If you're looking for a deck that challenges you while still being meta-relevant, Giratwo is it.
